My Name Is Earl Is Good Karma For NBC

Don't know what the heck karma is? Watch NBC's My Name Is Earl on Tuesday nights at 9 PM EST. It's turning into a viewer favorite this season.

The redneck version of Everyman, Earl, draws up a list of 258 wrongs to be righted. From wrongs against his ex-wife played by hottie, Jaime Pressly, to wrongs against his dad in next week's episode.

The show's Jason Lee is getting a lot of exposure lately including hosting last Saturday evening's SNL. But he does play a very likeable character as the lead of Earl.

The humor is very dry in comparison to Blue Collar TV. But other than that, the show does tip its cap to redneck culture.

Kurt Busch Suspended

Following Busch being taken into police custody last Friday evening for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, team owner Jack Roush suspended the reigning NEXTEL cup's champion from the last 2 races of the season including last Sunday's race in Phoenix where Busch had his run in with the law.

This will be Busch's last year with the Roush team. Next year he'll be driving for Penske Racing South in the car driven by retiring Rusty Wallace. That's right, the Miller Lite car.

Well, at least it's not a car sponsored by Busch Beer.

New Larry The Cable Guy movie wraps production

While we know very little yet about Larry The Cable Guy's first starring role in Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector, we can safely assume this isn't a drama about foodborne contamination. The Larry The Cable Guy Health Inspector movie is due out in the spring of 2006 and also features a number of stars including Joe Pantilliano (The Sopranos), Iris Bahr (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Tom Wilson ("Biff" from Back To The Future), Megan Price (Grounded For Life), Jerry Mathers (Leave It To Beaver), Joanna Cassidy (Six Feet Under), and Tony Hale (Arrested Development). Kid Rock also makes a cameo. Larry The Cable Guy Health Inspector is directed by Trent Cooper.
